The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.
